ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  Semioscopis steinkellneriana
ID pointers: Fairly distinctively patterned. The forewing is light grey, finely speckled blackish with prominent longitudinal black streaks running from the wing base, then bending towards the costa.
Distribution:  (First record: 11 March 2011 at Shiningcliffe Wood )  –  (Last record: 11 March 2011 at Shiningcliffe Wood, Ambergate )  –  Nationally this species is local. The first VC 57 record was 11th March 2011 – no further records so status is unknown.Extract from DaNES Journal 169 – 2019 page 48.
