ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  Hysterophora maculosana(Small Bluebell Beauty)
ID pointers: A reasonably distinctive Tortrix species with a white ground colour and rufous apical spot combined with blackish blotches in the median fascia and metallic grey markings.
Distribution:  (Last record: 9 February 1984 at Hopton Quarry )  –  Uncertain due to insufficient data – Harrison & Sterling show Hopton Wood Quarry 1984 same record as DaNES 2/9/1984 from same site. Can’t find any other records
Flight Period: June /  July /  –  One generation June – July Moth Activity: Nocturnal   – active from dusk and attracted to light Photographed: No –  Photographed By: Not Recorded
