Mine Period Additional: the leaf mines, containing the greenish-white larvae, appear from June into July. The species overwinters as a pupa.

Mine Comment: An early leaf miner. The mine is distinctive, starting as a narrow, winding gallery with frass (excrement) that soon abruptly widens into a large, round blotch with scattered frass. There are often several mines within a single compound leaf.
