A Blossom Underwing – 2nd VC57 record

The late Dave Budworth (who was the CMR for Derbyshire at the time) recorded the first Blossom Underwing on 2nd April 2021 from his garden in Swadlincote. Almost 4 years to the day, and incredibly after I had mentioned to look out for this species amongst Common Quakers, Clive Ashton attracted the 2nd to his Cromford garden light trap on 3rd April 2025. A superb record of a species that is most likely expanding its range into our recording area.
