ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  A. atomella, A. heracliana or A. subpropinquella,
ID pointers: A pale greyish-pinkish brown forewing On forewing, usually shows 2 black spots at about one third and 2 white spots at about half way. These spots can be surrounded by small black scales. Sometimes the black spots can be replaced entirely by white spots.
Distribution:  (Last record: 5 August 2017 at Pleasley Colliery CP )  –  The species was recorded on 7 dates from Pleasley Colliery CP between 2017-2019. Specimens were confirmed by Gen Det on 21st Feb 2017 & 5th Aug 2017. There appears to be no further records since. Status therefore in the county remains unknow
Flight Period: March /  April /  May /  August /  –  Appears in August and hibernates re-appearing the following Spring. Moth Activity: Nocturnal   – and is attracted to light Photographed: No –  Photographed By: Not Recorded
