ID Difficulty:  Red – difficult to identify – detailed examination required, often a Gen Det and/or specimen and quality photographs are required.
Confusion Species: Sorhagenia janiszewskae and Aproaerema cinctella
ID pointers: The forewing, which is blackish-brown, is sometimes scattered with creamy scales. There are black spots around the mid-wing and a creamy white spot on the costa.
Distribution:  (First record: 30 June 1994 at Kilamarsh )  –  (Last record: 5 August 2017 at Pleasley Colliery CP )  –  A Nationally Scarce A species – Status in Derbyshire unknown as only two records – First VC57 was from Holbrook Heath, Kilamarsh 30/6/1994 then the 2nd was from Pleasley Colliery CP 5th August 2017 to mv light.
