ID Difficulty:

ID pointers: As with most of the Agonopterix group the moth rest flat with overlapping wings. Forewing pale sandy brown with an obvious dark brown blob on each forewing and a pair of small spots above each blob. A series of small faint spots/marks along the costa.
Distribution: A fairly common moth throughout the county where there is Sallow (Salix).
Flight Period: January / February / April / May / June / August / September / October / November / December / - On the wing August – June (spends winter as an adult). Hibernates
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light
