Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Geometridae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Another attractive spring moth that is very distinctive. The ground colour is a pale mauve to violet, especially when freshly emerged. The forewing appears curved and rounded towards the tip giving the moth a certain “Jizz”. The central cross-band is pale but has a prominent black edge at the basal side and black “streamer” like markings trailing from the leading edge to the trailing edge of the wing, hence its name.
Distribution:  A resident species, generally uncommon and local in its distribution in Derbyshire. It is mainly found in the south and central regions of the county with populations being wide spread.
