ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
ID pointers: Features broad wings with a distinct crease and with a mostly uniform drab ochreous to brownish colouration. The moth has a highly distinct silhouette when viewed from the side.
Distribution:  (First record: 25 June 2026 at Markham Vale )  –  (Last record: 25 June 2026 at Markham Vale )  –  Locally common across England and Wales, scarcer in Scotland and Ireland. A first record for VC57 Derbyshire – one attracted to an MV light trap at Markham Vale on 25th June 2026.
General Comment: A sexually dimorphic species with females being slightly plainer than males
