Brown –  Significant Record / Very Rare / Vagrant    
Taxonomy:   Macro   >>  Geometridae  >> Larentiinae
ID Difficulty:  Red – difficult to identify – detailed examination required, often a Gen Det and/or specimen and quality photographs are required.
ID pointers: A weakly marked, rather nondescript pug, with overall grey-brown colouration. Shows chequered black and white veins, but can be difficult to see in worn specimens. Leading edge of forewing quite straight looking. A pale and nondescript abdominal band. Whitish dots near outer edge of forewing, with largest in trailing corner.
Distribution:  (Last record: 16 June 2024 at Cromford )  –  Uncertain and probably a very rare species in the county. One trapped overnight in a garden moth trap at Cromford on 23rd/24th June 2023. Seems to be the first confirmed record since 1981. A further specimen trapped at same garden in Cromford on 16 June 2024.
