ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  Slender Pug, Haworth’s Pug, Valerian Pug
ID pointers: A pale and nondescript species. Inconspicuously marked without any distinct darker or paler spots.
Distribution:  Thought to be extinct in the county. Food plant is Common Cow Wheat so a lack of this maybe the reason why the species is absent from Derbyshire. Last recorded in the latter half of the 19th century. Said to be common at Little Eaton in 1885 per Harrison & Sterling.
