ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
Distribution:  (Last record: 8 January 2000 at Starkholmes, Matlock )  –  Status in Derbyshire is uncertain – Either a very rare migrant or a possible rare resident. This moth has very much a fluctuating discontinuous distribution in England. Populations can vary widely from year to year and they can be affected by immigration. The 1980 record was part of several accounts in the midlands area at the time, so possibly indicating an arrival of migrants.Harrison andSterling show a record 30th August 1985 from New Mills this appears to be the last recorded date. Latest records from August 2000 (DaNES Historic)

This chart summarises all available historical occurrence records collated by ISO week of the year. It reflects recorder effort and sampling distribution as well as true biological activity, and should be interpreted as an indicative pattern of seasonal occurrence rather than a statistically controlled abundance or phenology model.

Remember, the last layer you ticked is the one which displays the popup information - they sit on top of each other - de-select then re-select, to see the popup values.

Bedrock Geology ** indirectly affects moth distribution by influencing the type of habitat and food plants available in an area. In turn, this may affect the types of moths that can thrive, or where they can most likely be found.
