Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A small moth that is attractively marked and coloured. The ground colour is reddish brown, covered with a mosaic of fine white and black markings. Fairly diagnostic.
Distribution:  A resident species that is widely distributed and very common on the upland grit-stone moors of Derbyshire. Sometimes found in areas well away from moorland and not unusual to find it occurring in urban areas.
