Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Erebidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Diagnostic snout species, triangular shaped, with a large chocolate brown panel on each forewing. 
Distribution:  (First record: 2000 )  -  (Last record: 2024 )  -  First recorded in Derbyshire in 2000 – This species has expanded its range northwards in recent years. It remains a localised species in Derbyshire, with very few records, up until 2023 when it was being reported from a number of moth traps in the central & NW of the county.
