Blue -  Generally Common / Widespread   
Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Erebidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A slender body with triangular shaped wings  that are slightly hooked at the tip and a curved outer edge. A pale purplish-brown ground colour with broad darker brown cross-bands and lines. Upturned palps or snout.
Distribution:  A resident that is common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Generally common across all areas of the county and is likely to be encountered wherever the larval food plant – Stinging Nettle (Urtica diocia) flourishes.
