Confusion Species:  dark Common Carpet
ID pointers: Similar to a small dark Common Carpet. Dark central cross band, chequered borders to wing fringes. Brownish markings to outer edge of forewing. Creamy white ground colour.
Distribution:  (Last record: 31/08/2024 at Longdendale )  -  A resident species, found on the upland moors at very few locations. Its stronghold is on Beeley Moor. Flies by day and at dusk. Few records last recorded in 2024 just one record
