ID pointers: Forewing a greyish brown with various white markings including a rectangular white spot about half way down the leading edge and a large white spot in the central area near the wing tip. Several large white spots on the hind wing. A smart and easily identified pyralid.
Distribution: Locally common mainly in the southern half of the county. On Elder.
Flight Period: May / June / July / August / - On the wing during May – September.
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - but can be disturbed during the day
