ID pointers: Forewing greyish brown, mottled with dark grey-brown and noticeable small black patches that are bordered by raised whitish scale-tufts.
Distribution: Appears to be widespread with most records from the southern half of the county. Presumably under-recorded but common in Derbyshire on Hawthorn and Blackthorn.
Flight Period: June / July / August / - On the wing in June – August.
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light

Food Plant: Shrubs and trees, including hawthorn (Crataegus) and blackthorn (Prunus spinosa).
