Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A broad golden yellow forewing with fine marbled markings. A brown cross-line through the middle of the wing, a large kidney mark that is outlined in white and shaped “8” like and large scale tufts on top of thorax are all diagnostic. A fairly long-legged plusia.
Distribution:  (Last record: 30/07/2024 at Belper )  -  Last Recorded 30th July 2024 – A resident that is generally scarce but can be fairly common in some years and then a period of scarcity in others and is locally distributed in Derbyshire. When common, is found across all areas of the county except the Peak District but only ever in small numbers. A species that seems to be in decline. Eleven reports from 2016 – 2024
