ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Unmistakable. A broad and hooked forewing with bright metallic greenish-yellow or brassy-yellow patches contrasting with metallic brown patches at the basal area and along the leading edge. The are two forms and both have distinctive wing patterns.
Distribution: A resident that is common and widely distributed in Derbyshire. Found in all areas of the county but in greatest numbers in the lowland areas.
Flight Period: June / July / August / September / - On the wing June – September.
Moth Activity: Crepuscular
