Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The forewing is slightly round and rounded at the tip, not hooked.Ground colour an orange-yellow or orange-brown, marbled, mottled and variably banded with a grey-blue.
Distribution:  (Last record: 28/09/2024 at Chaddesden )  -  A Red Data Species – 2002 – A resident that was widely distributed in Derbyshire. Found predominantly in the south of the county. The population has been dramatically affected by dutch elm disease and the species has become exceedingly rare in the county.
