Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae Other Name/s: Anchoscelis litura ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A partial black cross-line, small black marks along leading edge of wing and a prominent black triangular shaped dash near wing tip are all diagnostic features. The ground colour is a reddish-brown, sometimes purplish brown.
Distribution:  A resident that is common and widely distributed throughout Derbyshire. One of the most abundant autumn species especially in the southern and eastern lowlands. Fewer numbers in the northern areas of the county.
