- Generally Common / Widespread
ID pointers: The moth gets its name from the blackish “cloud-like” markings on the outer edges of the white forewings. The clouded markings are cut in two by at least one white wavy line. There is also a small black dash in the central area of each forewing. The hind-wings are also white, slightly peppered in lines of faint spotting.
Distribution: A resident that is widely distributed and locally, fairly common throughout Derbyshire. The central and southern regions of the county seem to be its stronghold. Not so common in the upland areas.
Forewing: 13-15mm
