Confusion Species:  Common White Wave
ID pointers: Similar to Common White Wave but the cross-lines are brown not grey and are curved, notably the outer two and can be indistinct. The peppering is also brown not grey and varies in intensity.
Distribution:  A resident that although widely distributed in Derbyshire, is generally uncommon. It may be under recorded due to confusion with Common White Wave. Is generally more common near areas of marshland, lakes or rivers where Salix is found in profusion.
