ID pointers: A white moth that can be confused with Common Wave. Look for the grey peppered markings across both wings and the fairly straight silvery-grey and diagonal cross-lines, 3 running through the forewing and two through the hind-wing.
Distribution: Resident, widely distributed in Derbyshire and locally common, especially in birch woodland, with greatest numbers from the southern lowland areas of the county.
Flight Period: May / June / July / August / - On the wing May – August
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light
