Blue -  Generally Common / Widespread        day-flying - Day-flying
Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Geometridae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The size varies with late emergence, being very small. Some specimens can be intensely marked with striking reddish-brown markings near the edges of otherwise brownish-whitish forewings. There are also two fine whitish cross-bands edged in black running through the forewing, which give this moth its name.
Distribution:  A resident species that is locally distributed and generally uncommon throughout Derbyshire. Seems to be well established in the south of the county.
