ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: This pug is diagnostic having grey-brown borders to the forewing and a white central patch. White thorax and white tip to the abdomen. Also a black discal spot in the forewing.
Distribution: A resident species that is fairly common locally in lowland areas of Derbyshire. Absent from the Peak District.
Flight Period: July / August / - On the wing July – August.
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light
