ID pointers: A sandy grey-brown carpet with a very jagged central cross-band with several oval shaped blotches. The cross band is finely edged in black and there is also a central spot near the leading edge of the wing. There are usually one or two black dashes near the wing tip.
Distribution: A resident species that is locally distributed and in 1986 documented as uncommon. In 2008 documented as widespread and increasingly common. Probably due to the popularity of ornamental juniper being introduced into gardens.
Forewing: 11-14mm
