Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Geometridae ID Difficulty:  amber  - care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely - quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  Red-green Carpet
ID pointers: Similar to Red-green Carpet but no reddish or reddish-brown colouration. An olive-green coloured moth with broader forewings and cross-lines and bands are usually more evenly and extensively whitish. See Christian Heintzen’s comparison plate below.
Distribution:  (Last record: 2024 )  -  A resident species which is locally distributed and generally uncommon in Derbyshire. Confined primarily to the northern upland region of the county, where it can be common in some of the peak valleys such as Hope and Edale. It is absent from the southern areas.
Flight Period: April /  May /  September /  October /  November /  -  On the wing between September to late November and from April – May after hibernation. one generation.
