Blue -  Generally Common / Widespread   
Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Geometridae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Forewing can vary in ground colour from a straw yellow to orange-brown or even dark brown. A triangular wedge of yellow or brown in each corner of the wing tip, with a short dark diagonal line. There is a “W” shaped projection on the cross band which is obvious.
Distribution:  A resident species, that is locally distributed, in Derbyshire. It has been recorded in all areas of the county and is generally recorded in largest numbers from the Peak District and the high gritstone areas of North Derbyshire, where it can be an abundant species on the upland moors. Very scarce in the North East and the coal measure areas and appears to be few records from the south of the county.
