Taxonomy:   Macro  >> . >>  Geometridae ID Difficulty:  amber  - care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely - quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  Devon Carpet, Small Phoenix, Phoenix and certain varities of Broken-barred Carpet.
ID pointers: The wings are somewhat rounded and pointed. A thick central cross-band with two outer projections. The basal patches and the cross-band are highlighted by an intricate white edging. The ground colour being a pale whitish-brown. Care is now needed due to the spread of Devon Carpet in the county. Care needs to be taken in order to eliminate this species.
Distribution:  (Last record: 25/05/2024 at High Leas Farm, Riber )  -  A resident species, that is locally distributed and uncommon in Derbyshire. It is mainly found at scattered sites in the south and central regions of the county.
