- Generally Common / Widespread

ID pointers: The moth gets its name from the yellowish orange colour of the antennae. The wing colour is and intricate combination of browns & buffs with darker cross lines and paler buff patches in the central outer-edge of the wing and towards the wing base. An attractive spring moth.
Distribution: Widely distributed in Derbyshire and locally common. Found wherever there is birch, the larval food plant. Highest densities are in the lowland areas south of the River Trent.
