ID pointers: The male is usually much smaller than the female and has feathered antennae used to detect the scent of unmated females. Diagnostic due to the time of the year the moth is on the wing. Unlikely to be confused with any other moth.
Distribution: A resident and locally common species but wide spread throughout the county. Usually associated with old deciduous woodland.
