A new species of micro moth has been added to the VC57 Derbyshire list when Dave Evans discovered the leaf mine of Stigmella viscerella (Plain Elm Dot) at Wyver Lane, Belper on 22nd October 2026. The leaf mine, which can be difficult to find, is quite distinctive in appearance, as the larvae create highly unique, intestine-like paths inside the elm leaves.
