ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: One of the largest of the family of Tortrix. Broad-winged. Forewing a greyish-brown marked darker with tiny cross-lines looking like a fine mesh. Two dark patches along each costa and in some cases a larger dark rectangular blotch on the inner edge (dorsum) of each forewing.
Distribution: Common and widespread in most areas of the county.
Flight Period: May / June / July / August / - On the wing during May – August.
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light

Food Plant: Variety of trees and shrubs, including Ivy (Hedera).
