Taxonomy:   Micro   >>  Erebidae  >> Boletobiinae
ID Difficulty:  green  – easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A very small macro moth that can easily be overlooked among micro-moths, looking most like Tortricoidea. Can be variably coloured in hues of creamy white, reddish-brown or orangey-brown with a central cream cross-band. Can show tiny black dots scattered across the upper forewing. Rests with wings arched or tent-like. Can show darker black or brown tiny patches at the wing apex.
Distribution:  (First record: 28 June 2025 at Matlock )  –  (Last record: 1 July 2025 at Allestree )  –  A rare migrant away from coastal areas, where it has become a more regular immigrant during high periods of migrant moth activity. A first VC57 Derbyshire record when one was trapped at Matlock on 28/29th June 2025 by Dan Martin. Incredibly a second was recorded at Allestree, by Stephen Plant, overnight on 29th June 2025. A third record was also from Allestree on 1st July 2025.
