ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  Celypha lacunana (Common Marble); Celypha cespitana (Thyme Marble)
Distribution:  (Last record: 6 January 2024 at Bow Wood Lea )  –  Appears to be an uncommon species in the recording area – scattered records few and far between – should be more common on the moors as Bilberry is a food plant.Harrison & Sterling listed records from 1905 – 1956 from a number of areas. Latest accounts are DaNES 10 records between 1989 – 2013 and iRecord 8 accounts between 2003 – 2024.
