Taxonomy:   Micro  >>  Tortricidae Other Name/s: Bilberry Marble ID Difficulty:  amber  - care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely - quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  A.capreana Endothenia gentianaeana
ID pointers: The basal two thirds of the forewing are blackish – brown, mixed black & grey. The final third leading to the outer wing and apex is a creamy white and the final outer margin leading to the apex and termen is a make-up of browns, blacks and greys bordering the creamy white band. There is  a “Hook-like indentation extending into the black area from the creamy white band.
Distribution:  (Last record: 15/07/2024 at Bray Clough )  -  Old records indicate that this species was widespread and often common across the Bilberry covered moorland areas of North Derbyshire. The only modern day record was netted at Bray Clough on 15th July 2024 by Christian Heintzen.
