ID pointers: Adult moths have a greyish forewing with an angled darker marking just inside the cleft. Members of the genus Oidaematophorus have noticeable scale tufts on the tibia.
Distribution:  (Last record: 4 April 2025 at Mellor )  –  Scarce to rare with few records – Drakelow 1863; Millers dale 1904; 1948-56 – (Harrison & Sterling); 1992 & 1997 with the last record from Mellor 27/7/1997
