Taxonomy:   Micro   >>  Tortricidae  >> Olethreutinae
ID Difficulty:  green  – easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Forewing reddish-brown to orangey-brown, variably speckled black, with narrow white cross-bands or spots. Very attractively marked.
Distribution:  (First record: 1949 )  –  (Last record: 3 September 2023 at Buxton )  –  Status uncertain – one record in Harrison & Sterling -1949. Since 2011 there have been five records, then two other records in 2023 from the north of the county. Would expect it to be common on the heather moorlands of Derbyshire. Most probably under-recorded.
General Comment: None
Flight Period: June /  July /  August /  September –  On the wing during June – September. Flies late afternoon and evening. Easily disturbed during the day from heather.
