Other Name/s: Cypress Groundling
ID Difficulty:  amber  – care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely – quality photographs required.
ID pointers: Forewing greyish tinged yellowish brown to reddish brown and densely speckled blackish. Veins variably outlined blackish and dark spots or streaks, sometimes joined to form a longitudinal streak through the centre of the forewing. 
Distribution:  (Last record: 11 August 2025 at Chaddesden )  –  Found on Juniper and Cypress but current status in the county unknown. Seems to be restricted to the SE corner of Derbyshire where a handful of records have occurred. Probably arrived in the county via garden centres associated with the food plants.
