ID pointers: The mine is a long, contorted and broad gallery, with dispersed frass towards the end of the gallery. The mine shown in the photograph is on Castanea (Sweet Chestnut) but it can also be found on Quercus (Oak). Adults – anothe unicolorous Nepticulidae species, until recently was poorly recorded in Britain
