Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The outer edge of the forewing is much straighter than related species and there is a noticeable outward projection at the wing tip. Ground colour is a soft light greyish straw, sometimes tinged with a pinkish-brown. A brown streak runs along the central vein.
Distribution:  (First record: 07/07/1982 at Sawley )  -  (Last record: 11/08/2023 at Breaston )  -   A resident that is uncommon and locally distributed in Derbyshire. This species appears to be restricted to the eastern end of the Trent Valley, and with 14 records in 2023 from 3 sites, it could be expanding its range. This specimen was trapped at one of the species strongholds in the county, Breaston.
