Taxonomy:   Macro  >>  Noctuidae ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: The males have strongly feathered antennae. A broad, brown or dark brown forewing with a distinctive right-angled wing appearance. Often a number of small pale spots along the leading edge. Despite the drab colour and appearance and often obscure markings, it is not a difficult moth to identify.
Distribution:  (Last record: 30/08/2024 at Shirland )  -  A resident that is widely distributed but locally uncommon in Derbyshire. Restricted to the central & northern part of the county, especially the limestone dales.
