Taxonomy:   Micro  >>  Pyralidae Other Name/s: Pempelia formosa ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Forewing is an attractive banding of pinkish-red, grey & black, with a broken cross-line at about a half, that is obscured by a large central blackish cross-band. Another whitish cross-line at about three-quarters, that is edged blackish and reddish.
Distribution:  Uncertain – There are few records of this very secretive species that is expanding northwards. Four records all from one site in Kings Newton between 2005 and 2019.
