ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Variable – Forewing slightly hook-tipped, with a shallow concave costa. Yellowish-brown to reddish-brown with darker brown lines and veins. A variable cross-band at about a half, sometimes like a Y shape.
Distribution: Fairly common in many parts of Derbyshire.
Flight Period: August / September / October / - On the wing during August – October.
Moth Activity: Nocturnal - and is attracted to light
