Taxonomy:   Micro  >>  Pterophoridae ID Difficulty:  amber  - care required in the identification process, as confusion with similar species is likely - quality photographs required.
Confusion Species:  A. punctidactyla
ID pointers: Forewing is twisted and a warm reddish brown in colour with two blackish triangular shaped patches towards the forewings tips. 
Distribution:  No twentieth century records at 1988. This species became much more frequent in gardens during the 1990’s. Would suggest it is now well established in the county as a common species.
Flight Period: January /  February /  March /  April /  May /  June /  July /  August /  September /  October /  November /  December /  -  On the wing in July and September – early June – over winters.
