Taxonomy:   Micro  >> . >>  Momphidae Other Name/s: Clouded Mompha ID Difficulty:  green  - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: A shining fuscous ground colour with irregular shaped white markings at about two thirds give this moth a distinctive appearance. A Leaf Miner.
Distribution:  (First record: 20/08/2022 at Hathersage )  -  (Last record: 29/07/2024 at Allestree )  -  Found on Enchanter’s Nightshade. Probably locally common and a species that maybe spreading northwards. First record appears to be 20/08/2022 – Hathersage
Flight Period: January /  February /  March /  April /  August /  September /  October /  November /  December /  -  On the wing August – May. Overwinters as an adult in thatch.  - The larva mines the leaves of enchanter’s nightshade (Circaea lutetiana) and willowherbs (Epilobium spp.) forming a whitish blotch with scattered frass.
