Confusion Species: Ectoedemia atricollis, Stigmella incognitella
ID pointers: A darkish brown with an overall ochreous speckled appearance, paler towards the wing tip and cilia. Yellowish head with whitish eye-cups
Distribution:  (First record: 1916 at Wliington )  –  (Last record: 4 July 2025 at Norton Lees )  –  Uncertain due to insufficient data – Reported from 1916-1919 – when it was known as common in Willington Five other records between 2006 – 2010 all relate to Leaf Mines (see data on website) First record for 15 years from Norton Lees 4/7/2025 – Leaf Mine found on a garden apple tree.
