ID Difficulty: - easy to identify, generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species.
ID pointers: Bronze or metallic green in colour. Note the base of the antennae are thickly covered in purplish reflective scales.
Distribution: Probable status in the county is common. Species not listed in Harrison & Sterling – Butterflies & Moths of Derbyshire – 1988. Frequents grassy areas where the larvae feed on white clover flowers.
Flight Period: June / July / - On the wing during the day and at night in June & July.
Moth Activity: Cathemeral - and is attracted to light
